Sheffield Lodge has limited facilities with regard to handicap accessible accommodations. The building is situated on a hill, therefore there are 12 steps from the parking lot up to the main level of the lodge. Once inside on the main level there are 3 bedrooms and all of the shared spaces (living room, dining room, kitchen, family room with fireplace, TV and game table). A disabled person is able to use any of these rooms if he/she can navigate the front steps. I’m sorry to note that none of the doorways and turning radii in the bathrooms are wide enough now nor can be renovated to accommodate a wheelchair.
We are researching the idea of adding a ramp to the front entrance to make the first floor accessible for those having difficulties with stairs. Unfortunately, the guestroom doors must remain with a 32” clearance. We will do our best to make everyone’s visit as comfortable as possible by helping carry luggage, provide ample space on either side of your vehicle, and any other assistance we can offer you.
